I have had mine for over two years now. I compared Etsy and James Allen before deciding. Short answer: no. I switched after a few months and never looked back. The upkeep was not worth it.
I asked my jeweler the same thing. He said it is safe for daily wear as long as you avoid harsh chemicals.
