My bench jeweler told me the main thing people regret is skimping on the setting. The stone itself is fine, but a weak prong will let it fall out. Spend a bit more on a solid setting.

This is one of the most common questions I see here. My ring came from Etsy with a full certificate. Save your money. The difference is noticeable but not worth the premium for most people.
Short answer: no. I switched after a few months and never looked back. The upkeep was not worth it.
