Can you wear a moissanite ring every day? Edited

Short answer: yes, for most people it is a great choice.

I went with a 2ct equivalent moissanite for my engagement ring and I have zero regrets. For 800 dollars I got a stone that looks huge. In sunlight it honestly out-sparkles my coworker's 8k diamond.

The main tradeoff: moissanite has no resale market and some diamond purists will side-eye it. If you are buying for sparkle and size on a budget, it is unbeatable.

On testers: most standard diamond testers read moissanite as diamond. This is a known issue because both have high thermal conductivity. Testers marketed as 'moissanite detectors' exist but most jewelers do not carry them. A trained eye with a loupe can spot double refraction.

Up close with a loupe, a jeweler might notice double refraction through the pavilion. From normal conversation distance, nobody can tell. I have worn mine to weddings, work dinners, and had jewelers compliment the diamond for years before I told them.

I listed mine on eBay after 4 years and sold it for about 25 percent of what I paid. That is actually better than I expected. Treat it as 100 percent depreciation and you will not be disappointed.
