My bench jeweler told me the main thing people regret is skimping on the setting. The stone itself is fine, but a weak prong will let it fall out. Spend a bit more on a solid setting.

Yes, it is worth it for most people. Just buy from a known seller and inspect the prongs every six months.

Here is my honest take after owning one. I ordered from Pandora online. I asked my jeweler the same thing. He said it is safe for daily wear as long as you avoid harsh chemicals.
Save your money. The difference is noticeable but not worth the premium for most people.

I have had mine for over two years now.
My Setup
I wear mine every day, including to the gym and to sleep. After a year and a half it still looks brand new.
What to Watch Out For
- Buy from a reputable seller, not a random listing
- Ask about the color grade before you order
- Get a certificate of authenticity
My only regret is not sizing up slightly. It fits snug now that winter is coming.
