My bench jeweler told me the main thing people regret is skimping on the setting. The stone itself is fine, but a weak prong will let it fall out. Spend a bit more on a solid setting.

Honestly, it depends on a few things. I bought mine from Brilliant Earth for about $300. I asked my jeweler the same thing. He said it is safe for daily wear as long as you avoid harsh chemicals.
Save your money. The difference is noticeable but not worth the premium for most people.
