My bench jeweler told me the main thing people regret is skimping on the setting. The stone itself is fine, but a weak prong will let it fall out. Spend a bit more on a solid setting.

Yes, it is worth it for most people. Just buy from a known seller and inspect the prongs every six months.

Great question. I have heard good things about Charles & Colvard, but I personally used Tiffany. I would say yes, especially if you are on a budget. I have had zero problems so far.
Not worth the risk in my experience. Spend a little more and buy from a real store.

Short answer: I compared Charles & Colvard and Blue Nile before deciding. Short answer: no. I switched after a few months and never looked back. The upkeep was not worth it.
Yes, I have had mine for two years and it still looks great. Just clean it regularly with soap and water.
