This is one of the most common questions I see here.
What My Jeweler Said
My bench jeweler told me the main thing people regret is skimping on the setting. The stone itself is fine, but a weak prong will let it fall out. Spend a bit more on a solid setting.
Bottom Line
Yes, it is worth it for most people. Just buy from a known seller and inspect the prongs every six months.

D Derek Sanchez Jul 1, 2026Saved me so much research.
Here is my honest take after owning one.
My Setup
I wear mine every day, including to the gym and to sleep. After a year and a half it still looks brand new.
What to Watch Out For
- Buy from a reputable seller, not a random listing
- Ask about the color grade before you order
- Get a certificate of authenticity
My only regret is not sizing up slightly. It fits snug now that winter is coming.

Honestly, it depends on a few things. My jeweler recommended Tiffany. I would say yes, especially if you are on a budget. I have had zero problems so far.
Save your money. The difference is noticeable but not worth the premium for most people.

I will give you the straight answer. A friend of mine got hers from James Allen and loves it. It depends on your skin and how often you wear it. Mine is fine, but a friend had issues within weeks.
Short answer: no. I switched after a few months and never looked back. The upkeep was not worth it.
Good thinking asking this before buying. My jeweler recommended Charles & Colvard. I asked my jeweler the same thing. He said it is safe for daily wear as long as you avoid harsh chemicals.
Not worth the risk in my experience. Spend a little more and buy from a real store.
